Ahhhh DiY ! As i've mentioned many times already DiY will always have a special place in my heart. Their combined contribution throughout 1993 was priceless for us. During the early Warehouse days my deal with the club was pretty unfair and we really were running on a shoestring budget. The DiY crew at this time were really reasonable to book and considering their journey down from Nottingham it was a gift from heaven. Not only that they all really got into what we were trying to do, which to be perfectly honest was what they had been doing for years already. Their Strictly for Groover's philosophy had won them fans all over the UK and our Warehouse run simply added to that. The DiY crew made monthly forays to Plymouth throughout 1993 and each visit saw the numbers climb up and a new load of fans join the exodus away from the rave scene and its 140 bpm + music. Although 4/4 house music was DiY's order of the day Jack & Pezz played differently than the rest. Their sets would be slightly faster and more trippy which is why they went down so well under the net. I had the pleasure of attending and playing @ Jacks 40th Birthday in June 08 and met up with a heap of people i had not seen in years. The man himself was on top form and has also recently become the proud father of beautiful baby daughter Rimay. The Groover philosophy is still alive and well in 2010 and DiY are currently out and about celebrating their 20th anniversary with gig's all over the UK. To be honest i wouldn't have put on the weekend event in June without them and both Jack & Simon DK will be with us in June for the Saturday night.
