This mix was performed by resident Dj Phil Jubb as a warm up for Charlie Hall on 27th March 1993. Phil played for us from our humble beginnings @ The Quay Club in 92 to our absolute zenith in 95 @ The Warehouse. At the time of this performance Phil was still living in Exeter and working behind the counter for Mark & Jess at their supreme "Mighty Force Records. To say Phil was instrumental to our success would be an understatement. Phil Jubb played BIG, Cultural Vibes wanted to be BIG and six months after this set we were BIG, what more can i say ! Good resident Dj's are at the heart of every great club and i was extremely lucky to have had Phil at this time. He never disappointed, always slammed the place, and consequently had a huge fan base at the club. My favourite memories of Phil center around his flat upstairs from Mighty Force Records where he lived with both Duncan Parks & Richie "Bing Bong" Rundle. We all had so much fun during 93/94 its mindblowing to think we all came through unscathed and would go on to live such productive lives.These days he spends his valuable time between the French Alps and London as the Commercial Director of Richer Sounds, a fine accent up the ladder from his beginnings at The Plymouth store. I cannot wait to hear his warm up for Shades Of Rhythm at the weekender but until then here he is, live @ The Warehouse, Phil Jubb.
