This live mix was performed @ The Cultural Vibes 1st Birthday night at the Warehouse on 2nd Oct 1993. Over 1000 people made it for the night. By now the overhead net was long gone and the whole room was now rocking as one on a weekly basis. Simon DK was a big favourite of all the resident DJ's thanks to his after-party sessions at Chinn's flat. I think we got 8 hrs on tape once that kept us all hunting around for months trying to find any of the tracks on them. Digs & Woosh ( Rick & Pete) were always big @ Vibes and are still out there "Doing it Themselves" to this day. The Strictly for Groovers philosophy these guys peddled in the 90's would endear them to tens of thousands across the country. In a different time with different music & drugs they were like The Sex Pistols, they just turned up did their thing and converted everyone that stayed the course. They were instrumental in kicking off so many little scenes all over the country i think they should all be in the Dance Hall of Fame forever! I also have approx 1.5 hours of priceless video from this night in my collection and this will also appear on the website in the new year. DiY were so instrumental in helping Cultural Vibes succeed throughout the first year and it was only fitting they played the 1st Birthday party. As expected the night went off in a massive way and as you will see in the video and then i think i put 8 of them up in my tiny flat, messy !
